Ten High Hold ‘Em is in the process of taking the online gambling world by storm! With Texas Hold ‘Em quite possibly being the most popular form of poker in the world today, and this version of the game has the added excitement of bonus payouts based on 10 cards – hence the name Ten High Hold ‘Em.
Ten High Hold ‘Em is played using a 52 deck of cards with the Jokers removed. Unlike other variations of Poker, this is a table game you play against the dealer, not against other players.
You start the game by placing your initial bet. There are three types of bet available for you to make in 10 High Hold ‘Em Poker. These are;
- Initial Bet: You place this bet by choosing a coin and placing it on the ‘Bet’ circle on the game table. Payouts for this bet are based on standard poker hands.
- 10 Bonus Bet: This bet can be placed by choosing a coin and placing it on the ‘10+’ circle on the game table. The payouts for this bet are based on the 10+ paytable. This bet is not refunded in the case of a 10 Bonus payout.
- Bonus Bet: This bet can be placed by choosing the coin and placing it on the ‘Bonus bet’ slot present on the game table. You cannot place this bet without placing the Initial bet first.
Once the bets have been placed, the dealing begins. Two cards are dealt face down to both the player as well as the dealer. These are known as ‘Hole cards’.
The player then looks at his Hole cards and the Dealer will discard the top card from the deck of cards. This discarded card is known as a ‘Burn Card’.
The dealer will then deal the next 3 cards face up onto the table. This is known as the ‘Flop’.
The dealer will then burn another card and deal a single card face up onto the table. This card is known as the ‘Turn card’.
After the Turn card, the dealer burns one final card and deals the last card onto the table. This is known as a ‘River’.
The five face up dealt cards are community cards that either the player or dealer can use to form a five-card poker hand in combination with their Hole cards.
Whichever online poker room you are playing in will then select automatically the best 5 card poker hand available to you from the community cards and your Hole card. The winnings are then calculated based on the rules of the bet that was placed at the start:
- Initial Bet: Players hand is formed by using the Hole cards and community cards but at least 1 of the player’s Hole cards must be used for form a winning combination.
- 10+ Bet: At least one of the Hole cards must be used to form a winning 10+ bonus hand based on the 10+ paytable. One of the player’s cards must be a 10.
- Bonus Bet: Both Hole cards need to be used in order to form a winning bonus bet hand based on the bonus bet paytable.
After the player’s poker hand has been selected, the dealers Hole cards are then also exposed. The player’s hand is then compared to the dealer’s hand in order to determine who has the better hand and wins.
