Multi Table tournaments

In a Multi-Table Tournament, sometimes referred to as an MTT, all players start with a fixed amount of chips and then play at numerous tables. Players compete for each other’s chips as the blinds or antes increase. When a player runs out of chips then they are eliminated from the tournament. As people get eliminated the different tables are ‘broken’ – this means that players are moved to keep all the tables full and evenly balanced. When the competition is whittled down to the last few surviving players with chips, then they are all brought together at a final table. The winner is the player who manages to win all the chips from their opponents. There are usually cash prizes awarded to the top few finishers.

- Shootouts: A Shootout is a special kind of multi-table tournament where no table balancing occurs as players get eliminated. You remain at your original table until only one player is left standing, if you win that table then you get to move on to another table and repeat the process.

- Double Shootout: A Double Shootout is where you need to win 2 tables in order to win the event. For example, if there were 8 players per table and 8 tables in the first round, then they would play until there was one winner at each table. The 8 winners would then move to a final round where they all play against each other in order to determine an overall winner.

- Triple Shootout: A Triple Shootout is similar to a Double Shootout but instead requires a player to win 3 tables before winning the entire event.
