Good news for the Poker Players Alliance – they have been joined by popular yet controversial American DJ and broadcaster Howard Stern. Back in 2006 Howard Stern was named as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine and he is using this influence to campaign for the better treatment of US poker players with the aim of overturning unconstitutional legislation.
The chaiman of the Poker Players Alliance and former Senator of New York, Alfonse D’Amato, said that “With Howard Stern as a member of the Poker Players Alliance, it shows Congress and the public that protexting internet poker is about more than just poke r- it’s about protecting internet freedom and personal responsibility.”
The Poker Players Alliance are lobbying Washington to try and get poker exempt from the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act license. They hope to see the rights of law abiding Americans who love to play poker by helping to see through the regulation of internet poker in America.
